St. John’s Episcopal School Announces New Head of School
Abilene, TX - February 21, 2025
St. John’s Episcopal School, a long-standing, respected private school known for its commitment to academic excellence and student development, is pleased to announce the appointment of Katherine (Katie) Rose Gloyna as its new Head of School, effective immediately.
Gloyna brings a wealth of experience in education and leadership, having previously served in Administration with Abilene Independent School District and St. John’s Episcopal School with classroom experience in San Antonio, Texas, and St. John’s. With a strong background in educator motivation and training, student performance, and community involvement, she is well-equipped to guide St. John’s into its next chapter of success.
Sharra Longhofer, St. John’s Trustee and Head of School Search Committee Chair said, “After serving as the school’s interim Head of School this year, we have seen first-hand her tremendous capability, and we are elated to offer Katie this role outright. We are confident that Mrs. Gloyna will continue to uphold our school’s values while bringing fresh perspectives and innovative strategies.”
Gloyna expressed excitement about re-joining St. John: “I am honored to step into this role and look forward to working alongside the dedicated faculty, staff, and families to create an enriching learning environment for all students.”
